music

I love listening to music, and I love composing it. Listening to it is meditative, whilst composing and playing it is probably the only way I can totally unwind and not have work-related thoughts taking over the situation.

listening

I like to listen to people who know what they're doing. It doesn't matter what style of music they play, as long as they put their guts into it and manage to transfer their enthusiasm and feelings.

I've always loved music. Used to have thousands of LPs. Then thousands of CDs. And now gigabytes of music stored on different harddisks (including my trusted iPod).

composing and playing

I'm originally a guitarist, using Takamine, Ibanez, and Ovation guitars. I also dabble (or “paint soundscapes”) on keyboards using my Kurzweil 2500 XS and a plethora of soft-synths from Native Instruments, Propellerheads, U&I, Apple, and others. All recorded direct to disc through Logic Pro.

When it comes to singing, I leave that to people with talents in that area. My own voice carries a tune when it comes to lullabys for my sons, but that's it.

want to hear?
